Help the Shelter Out

E.A.R.S. is what one would call a full-blown animal rescue. Not only do they have full-scale, top-notch facilities with plenty of outdoor space for the animals, but they also host events, socialize the dogs twice a day in play areas, and have volunteers for helping take care of the dogs. On top of the physical location of the rescue, they support and encourage fostering of dogs (there are always plenty of dogs to be rescued)!

Similarly to Ewenity Farms, our shelter for last week, E.A.R.S. does a terrific job of screening potential adopters. Because of the amount of dedication they have to their rescues, they know each one individually and help potential adopters find the best fit for their wants and needs. Their adoption form lets you know that they are serious about finding the right fit. It contains reminders of the seriousness of adopting a pet and includes a list of questions to screen adopters for credentials.

Without a doubt E.A.R.S. is an incredibly dedicated organization whose great heart shines through in their work. Check out all of the awesome pictures they post on their website, follow them on Instagram, and like their page on Facebook!

We give E.A.R.S. a 11/10!

Lastly, we'd like to start a new feature as part of our monthly rescue review posts. Starting this month, Casual Furiday is going to pick an available rescue from our shelter of the month! For E.A.R.S., we're picking Dolly. Let's get beautiful Dolly a furever home! She's pictured below!

Here is Dolly's story from the E.A.R.S. website:

"We call this pretty little girl Dolly. She is 3 years old. When she came to us, she was scared, dirty and starved. We see it all the time but it is always amazing what some medical care and lots of TLC can do. Sometimes we just are not able to determine breed of a dog, our guess here would be maybe a Pointer mix. She is about 2 years old and in 40 pound range. She is current on vaccines, is spayed and micro-chipped.  Is there someone out there willing to give her a forever home and let her know people can be trusted?"

The people I know at E.A.R.S. are very special. I wish the world were made up of people like them. It would mean every animal was loved and cared for the way they should be. I’ve see how the dogs in their care look at the caretakers with love and I always say I wish they could go home with them. But there are too many for that to happen, so they do a great job at trying to find an equally loving family. :D
