We cover a lot of foster-based organizations in our monthly Rescue Reviews, and with good reason.  Fosters offer a personalized situation for the dog while they are being adopted out. Especially with dogs that were strays or abuse-survivors, this helps them adapt to home-living situations with other pets and people.

This month's rescue is no different. Paws Across Pittsburgh is based right outside Pittsburgh in Springdale, Pennsylvania. They are completely volunteer based and foster/adopt out both cats and dogs. All animals that enter their rescue gets the appropriate vet care, spay/neuter, vaccinations and preventative treatments. They're adoption process is 9 steps, and clearly outlines on their website's adoption page. Now that's responsible rescuing!

One of the most interesting parts of this rescue is their compiled resources for current and future adopters. Paws Across Pittsburgh has put together a ton of training resources (https://www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/training) and even has an "Ask a Trainer" option! Now that's cool!

If you're in the Pittsburgh area, they also have a ton of events going on pretty regularly, which you can find on their site, or on their Facebook Events page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/pawsacrosspittsburgh/events/.

We give Paws Across Pittsburgh a 12/10!

This month's featured rescue from our shelter of the month is Bess, a 9 year old Coonhound. She has a sweet and friendly personality with other dogs and with her human friends!

Check her out at her Petstablished page. Remember, each month we give 10% of sales to a different rescue, and 20% from our rescue-specific lines you can find here.
